In a joint operation conducted in District Central, the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) and the Assistant Commissioner found alarming violations of hygiene and food safety standards at a local restaurant, according to an SFA spokesperson.
The inspection revealed extremely poor sanitary conditions, an infestation of insects, and highly unsanitary practices in the kitchen area. Raw materials were being stored in unsafe and unhygienic conditions.
As a result, food production was immediately suspended, and the restaurant was sealed on the spot.
Director General of the Sindh Food Authority, Mr. Asif Jan Siddiqui, emphasized the importance of providing clean and safe food to the public. “There will be zero tolerance for any compromise on public health,” he stated.
He further urged citizens to report any cases of substandard food or unhygienic practices by calling the SFA helpline or reaching out through the authority’s official social media platforms.
